If you will not turn to the Dark Side… then perhaps she will...

My daughter also had a recent Tang Soo Do testing. She joined the school shortly after my son started, so she is currently a lower rank (despite being older).  I'm really proud that she has not been bothered by her younger brother being a higher rank.  She is often asked to demonstrate skills in class, which shows her dedication and focus.

Here is her form from testing:

And a couple more skills:

Judge me by my size, do you?

My son did a great job at his latest Tang Soo Do testing.  Here's a few videos and photos from the day.

The first video is his form.

Like Father Like Daughter

Check out my daughter from her latest karate testing... and her dad from his.  I'm one proud momma and wife.

Snow dog

Our greyhound, Garrett, has been suffering from some severe cabin fever for the past month.  With thin skin, little body fat, and a thin layer of fur, he hasn't liked the polar vortex temperatures of late.  So, when the temperatures got near 40 degrees today (it's like a heat wave!), I decided it was warm enough to get him out to the dog park.  There were lots of dogs there, and he thoroughly enjoyed his time outside.  Here's a few pictures.

Notice the bench in the upper left.  Yes, the snow was that deep all over the dog park -- even after being trampled by a million dogs.

Happy Valentine's day!

Here's a few pictures related to Valentine's day.  First, my kids decided to forego the traditional heart filled Valentine's box.  My son went for Ninjas and my daugther is currently obsessed with mustaches.  I think they did a nice job:

If you can't read the box, the cover says "ME Hungry!"  The inside says "Me Still... Hungry!"

Mustaches everywhere!  Even on the inside! Yes, that is mustache duct tape.

Hubby and I got a very nice night out at 5ive, a fancy restaurant not too far from home. We took a few pictures, and even a selfie (Oh, I'm hip now!).

I don't drink, so hubby got two glasses of Champagne (included with the meal).

I don't usually take pictures of my food, but ain't these pretty?

Hubby tried to eat the dessert in one bite.

Yes, it's a selfie!  Not bad.  We clean up pretty nice, huh?

Learning about chocolate. Yum.

My daughter and I went to a Girl Scout event at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens today about chocolate!  It was very informative, well run, and yummy.

Learning about the history of chocolate while sipping hot chocolate.
