You got the power! Yeah!

My husband (and I) are children of the '80s.  He LOVEDs hair bands... and the Transformers.

Little did I know he would pass both loves onto our 4-year-old son.

In the past year, not only has my son fallen madly in love with all-things-Transformers, but he also can sing along to ORIGINAL (yes, 1986) Transformers Movie soundtrack.

Yes: my son sings hair band power ballads.

He even pumps his fist while he rocks out.

You got the touch
You got the power! Yeah!

After all is said and done
You've never walked, you've never run,
You're a winner

You got the moves, you know the streets
Break the rules, take the heat
You're nobody's fool

You're at your best when when the goin' gets rough
You've been put to the test, but it's never enough

You got the touch
You got the power

When all hell's breakin' loose
You'll be riding the eye of the storm

You got the heart
You got the motion

You know that when things get too tough
You got the touch keeps going... but I think we've had enough.
Please, watch the whole thing in all its glory then!

This post was brought to you by Mama Kat's writing prompt. I chose to write about a song with significance. (Hey... she didn't say what KIND of significance...)

Mama’s Losin’ It

I think it's hilarious that he knows the words! That means you must have played the song a whole lot! Way to bring back the 80's!

Ahem - that happens around here. Bit embarrassing when your preteen has no idea of current teen bands but can sing a whole lot of older stuff ;)

How awesome!!! I love the 80s, and it'd be funny if my son sang something from back then. But, he prefers rap and hip hop just like my husband......ugh!

What fun! It must be a blast to hear him sing.

Ok, well at least we didn't sit through an entire rendition of Every Rose has It's Thorn.
Unfortunately, the 80s ruined my hair for any other decade! Now all it wants to do is go all big and fuzzy!
