And needing his momma...
...all the time.
When I'm in the middle of talking,
Momma, momma, momma.
Or getting my son a glass of milk...
My son needs MORE MOMMA!
I've tried the standards for quelling this behavior (redirecting, ignore, manners cues, etc.), but this boy is quite obsessed with momma.
One night at dinner, my husband had heard "Momma" one time too many, and he announced, "You need to raise your hand if you want to speak. We'll call on you when we are ready."
I thought to myself, "Ya, right? This boy is going to raise his hand, and that's going to work? Like he does in preschool?"
He raised his hand.
"Can I have some more milk?"
"Yes, in a minute."
It worked. He usually says "Momma, momma" once or twice, but then, the hand goes up. We see the hand, and we respond to it. He's used to this interaction because he does it at preschool.
Thank you daddy.
